Techno Q was founded in 1995 by Zeyad Jaidah (Managing Director) and Abdulla Alansari (Executive Director), both mechanical engineering graduates from Qatar who met at Lamar University in Texas, USA, while studying abroad and completing their engineering degrees.
Unpacking their bags back from their studies abroad in America, they saw an opportunity to launch a business out of their common enthusiasm and interest for audiovisual effects and applications. They came back home to Qatar with a passion for home theatre systems, booming in the USA at that time.
At that point the Techno Q start-up was born. A small team of people with a love for the engineering profession and a business idea to start installing home theatres in residential environments in their home town of Doha.
It was not an easy beginning to be the first mover in the market where the home theatre trend and technology were almost nonexistent. The capability to anticipate the needs of the market and the agility to change quickly has given Techno Q the aptitude to sustain and continue growing over the years.
In 1996 Techno Q was awarded its first project for a reputable business in the local market -- the Alfardan BMW Showroom. This project gave Techno Q a platform to put their professional skills and know-how to the test. From there it has been a rapid and continuous shift from handling small residential projects to providing retail system solutions, to being awarded commercial projects, to bidding for international tenders issued by designers, consultants and developers. From offering audiovisual solutions in 1995, adding security systems in 1997, to lighting and hospitality management systems in 1998, Techno Q expanded its business portfolio to include multiple system solutions and business units.
By having enough courage to take on new challenges, running demanding projects that strove team capabilities and advanced management skills, the company progressed in size and domain achieved through a astute selection of top-notch technology and equipment partners, continuous training of staff and resolute investments.
In 2001 Techno Q was appointed by Weill Cornell Medical College to develop the audiovisual system for their Qatar campus, a large scale project of 33 rooms and 4 auditoriums. Other discerning clients started approaching Techno Q with their requirements soon after -- Texas A&M University project required complete AV systems for 55 rooms and 3 auditoriums.
